Regulations

Fertiliser sales are regulated by State Governments and have a particular focus on ensuring that impurities are not present at unacceptable levels. The National Code of Practice for Description and Labelling of fertiliser lists the maximum permissible concentration (MPC) for impurities and details the other information that should be included on labels. More information on food safety here, and on labelling here.

Fertilizer Australia works closely with the Department of Agriculture and Water Resources Biosecurity Division to help safeguard Australian agriculture from the introduction of pests and diseases.

Fertilizer Australia members coordinate quality assurance activities along the supply chain with overseas supply partners.

Any company considering importing fertiliser to Australia should find good value in membership of Fertilizer Australia.
